Daytime Sprinkling Ban In Effect

Water conservations efforts are being implemented all across Minnesota and Little Canada is doing its part to promote water conservation in order to protect one of our most natural resources.  In Apri, the City Council approved an amendment to the water ordinance which enacts a daytime watering ban in Little Canada.  The ban is in effect May 1 through September 30, Sunday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Lawn sprinkling is prohibited during this time.  Residents and businesses may still hand water flowers, gardens, new seed or sod, wash vehicles, fill kiddie pools, and other activities, but the sprinkling of lawns is not allowed.  Anyone caught watering during the restricted time will receive a warning for the first offense.  Subsequent offenses will result in fines and potentially a misdemeanor.
